Meaningful Guidance / Psychotherapy
“In this life journey we sometimes forget where we came from and the truths that this origin that is vaguely familiar can reveal.”
– Carolina A. Miranda

TF-Through the broad spectrum of psychotherapy, we can work together to treat most mental health diagnoses and help you move past negative thought patterns and beliefs that have hindered your personal growth and achievement of your full potential. Psychotherapy has been proven effective in the treatment and resolution of symptoms for anxiety disorders, mood disorders, addictions, eating disorders, personality disorders, and other mental illnesses; in some cases, it has proven to be more effective than medication.
You don’t have to be diagnosed with a mental illness in order to benefit greatly from psychotherapy. Every human being faces stress, anxiety, conflict, major life changes, and could simply benefit from the aid of learning healthy coping strategies.
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Perception and responses to our experiences, even to experiences that might almost be identical, are not the same. Therefore, treatment has to meet each individual’s needs for how they will best respond. There are many forms of therapy that have been proven effective. Some psychotherapy techniques that have been proven effective are Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Integrative or Holistic Therapy.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on our thoughts and thinking patterns. Through CBT we can successfully identify negative thinking patterns and beliefs and begin replacing them with healthy, positive ones. By changing our thoughts we can change our behaviors and our responses.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is a form of CBT that is centralized around the healing from early childhood trauma. TF-CBT has been proven effective in the treatment of PTSD from a single or series of traumatic events. While this form of treatment focuses on the individual who had the trauma inflicted, it is common that the entire family is also incorporated into the therapeutic relationship as the family as a whole often needs healing.
Integrative or Holistic Therapy brings together the fundamental principles of psychotherapy and holistic therapy in order to promote healing on a spiritual, mental, and emotional physical level. Combining all the fundamental principles of psychotherapy and holistic therapy encompasses the person as a whole addressing multiple areas of their life and being in order to promote optimal healing.
Through these forms of psychotherapy and other modalities of psychotherapy not listed, we can work together to find a deeper understanding of yourself, your thoughts, behaviors, and emotional responses.
